It combines the CPC sprites/music with a 60fps 128x256 32-color upgrade. In a concession to modern gaming you can select the starting tower from any you've previously visited, which helped me finally complete all the towers. ;) Also playable in the browser: https://carlc27843.itch.io/nebuluscarlc27843https://carlc27843.itch.io/nebulusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7514691251207559863.post-22377070168105134832020-01-14T10:00:48.586+02:002020-01-14T10:00:48.586+02:00Hey, thanks for the comment, though I didn't r...Hey, thanks for the comment, though I didn't realize that I was particularly "bashing" the CPC version - I just wrote as I experienced. Just as much you're "bashing" the SID-chip by calling it over-rated (which I can not agree with at all, considering all its well-documented capabilities compared to sound chips in other computers and consoles at the time), but the material point with any of the artwork, be it music or graphics, has to be compared with the assumed intention of the original creator, which is the result in the original version of the game - this case that being the one on the C64. But yes, as I said in the comparison itself, everyone has their own opinions and are certainly entitled to them, particularly concerning music. Some people like Sex Pistols, some like Frank Zappa better.FRGCB Dudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16754639927704915007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7514691251207559863.post-58323134470090351412020-01-12T00:11:42.842+02:002020-01-12T00:11:42.842+02:00Nice read, but I got to lash out at the CPC bashin...Nice read, but I got to lash out at the CPC bashing. For those of us who actually had an Amstrad back in the day, Nebulus was stunning. More than than just playable, it was like a work of art. A lot of Hewson games back then made the CPC shine proudly. And the music on the CPC may not be made by an over-rated SID chip, but hey, to my ears it sounds better than the C64 anyday- happy, joyful and in places a bit funky... and at least it actually had an ending...<br />But definitely an interesting article none the less.Stu73https://www.blogger.com/profile/07999207947789451241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7514691251207559863.post-35149803754882927802019-03-11T07:32:27.048+02:002019-03-11T07:32:27.048+02:00Good post...Good post...Serge Rogatchhttp://probqa.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7514691251207559863.post-83621758051551553392019-03-10T20:35:50.804+02:002019-03-10T20:35:50.804+02:00Nice post...Nice post...Serge Rogatchhttp://probqa.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7514691251207559863.post-60900878371582037182018-03-25T20:59:02.251+03:002018-03-25T20:59:02.251+03:00I'm doing a giveaway for Vain Dream II on the ...I'm doing a giveaway for Vain Dream II on the PC-9801VM and thought it might interest people that love retrogaming https://gleam.io/3Ccf2/win-vain-dream-ii-on-pc9801vm-classic-jrpg-worth-100Simon Belmonthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17203261893345687889noreply@blogger.com
